Frank C. Mars and his second wife Ethel started any confectionery factory in 1911 in Tacoma-Washington generally known as the Mars Candy Manufacturing facility. In 1920, the factory was relocated to Minnesota underneath the name Mar-O-Bar but the name didn't inspire the brand commitment and was changed in order to Mars Inc. after incorporation.
